The state is famous for its cultural and historical sites. Maharashtra contains seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include the Ajanta Caves and the Ellora Caves. 
Daily life in the state is filled with rich traditions. People enjoy local foods like Misal Paav or a traditional vegetarian Thali.
