Later, Charles Hazelius Sternberg also found many important skeletons. His work helped us learn so much about these creatures.

Naming the dinosaur took a long time. First, Lambe thought a skull belonged to a genus called Stephanosaurus. Later, William A. Parks decided it was a new genus. He named it Lambeosaurus lambei in 1923. He did this to honor Lawrence Lambe.

Since then, more species have been named. These include L. clavinitialis and L. magnicristatus. Some fossils once called Procheneosaurus are now known to be young Lambeosaurus.
