During the 1940s, it was expanded to 18 levels. This scale allows people to use general terms like "moderate gale" or "strong breeze." This helps standardize how we talk about wind intensity across the world.
Wind has a massive impact on both nature and human civilization. It provides a power source for electricity and mechanical work.
