Once the liquid is at the surface, it can be concentrated using evaporation. In evaporation ponds, solar energy helps remove the water from the solution.

Various chemical forms of potash exist for different uses, including potassium chloride (KCl), potassium sulfate (K2SO4), and potassium nitrate (KNO3).
