In 1950, Pasolini moved to Rome to begin a new chapter. 
Pasolini became a highly influential filmmaker and writer. He directed notable films such as The Gospel According to St. Matthew and the Trilogy of Life. The Trilogy of Life includes The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales, and Arabian Nights. 
His life ended abruptly and violently in November 1975. Pasolini was abducted, tortured, and murdered at Ostia.
