A second subgroup sits 3 degrees to the southwest. This subgroup is centered on the galaxy NGC 1316. This galaxy is the brightest one in the whole group. Right now, the subgroup is infalling into the main cluster. This means it is falling toward the larger group. This movement will lead to a merger of the two parts.
