They performed over 238 concerts together in Germany and Britain. She was also a vital mentor to Johannes Brahms. Clara gave the public premieres of many of his works, including his *Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel*. She even offered technical advice on his First Symphony. Her influence helped shape the careers of these legendary artists.

In her later years, Clara became a highly influential piano educator. In 1878, she began teaching at Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium in Frankfurt.
